whats thE diffrence in in DTS AND TRUE HD ?
Hi im not sure if this in the right forums but ill post it here.
my questions is this is true HD 5.1 better than DTS ? or is DTS Better ? the reasson i ask this question is cause braveheart BLU RAY USA is true HD and the UK version is DTS ? i was under impression that DTS was better.

I haven't looked through all of those links, but the 2 codecs are basically identical on the inside. Unlike the SACD vs DVD-Audio debate where they are technically different. (although sound pretty much the same)

just keep in mind......there is definitely a difference between DTS and DTS Master Audio. (OP just said DTS, not DTS-MA)
The latter is a lossless format. The former is not.
Therefore, given the original choice of Dolby True HD vs DTS, True HD is better.
If it's True HD vs DTS Master Audio? About the same IMO.
As an aside: in the DVD days, the general consensus usually seemed to be that DTS soundtracks sounded better than Dolby 5.1 soundtracks. I think this may be where the OP's confusion is coming from
