Onyko HT-R340 ( sub has no boom to it)
ok i have a Onyko HT-R340 and for some reason i can nto get the sub to have any thump or boom to to it, i can watch a movie with explosions and no heavy bass to at all...
and i am so lost on how to get the bass loud... or at least when something explodes you hear it....
any help would be greatfull....

Don't know, but some things to check:
1. Your system has two zones for speakers (A and B). If you have the speakers set to zone "B" no sound is sent to the subwoofer.
2. On page 52 of the owner's manual (I looked online) it shows how to tell your receiver that the sub is connected. Maybe out of the box it is set to "No" for sub not connected.

Some receivers also have a "night" mode as well, you might want to check to see if that is turned on. Do you have any THX dvd's? I believe they have audio tests that will test the sub.

i do i will check them out and see if they have tests.. if not whats a good dvd for tests..

my settings on the receiver were all wrong.. so i reset the system then used the Digital Video Essentials and got the system setup right... i also bought new speaker wire that was thicker then what i had... as i heard that can also make a difference....
