playing region 2 discs

does anyone know how to play region 2 discs in a region 1 player. I have a pioneer dv-505. it's a really recent version so it's not codefree. thanks

You have to put a region 1 disc in at the same time to "trick" the player. The disc tray might not close properly, so you've really got to shove hard to get it to close, otherwise it won't play.

If you have a DVD Rom drive, you might want to check out www.dvdutils.com , but without modifying your player (unless it's an APEX) you aren't going to be able to do it.

i plan on putting a region-free mod chip into my dvd player(toshiba usa)

so i can play region 2 and 4 dvds, what about the whole ntsc/pal thing, will there be a problem with playback?
