I'm on my second copy of Sanjuro (Criterion) b/c there is no sound...the back of the case says it has monaural sound, but I can't get it to work on either a Toshiba 2109 or 6109. When I check the display, it says, "Audio not present." Any hints?
Apologies in advance if this is the wrong forum.

I had the same problem with my Criterion Le Million on a Tosh 5109. I put it in and, just like you, no sound and no audio present. I took the disc out to examine it for defects -- there weren't any visible. So I put it in again and no audio. At this point, I was ready call it quits and took the disc out again.
I then put in Celo, which came the same day, and it worked fine. Feeling frustrated at the Le Million disc I placed it in a third time. This time there was sound.
I can't explain it and suspect that it is a player problem and/or production problem with the placement of the audio track. I suggest you give it another try or two and see what you get.
