A lot of people out there have a high regard for Paradigm models, especially the Reference line.

I am a huge fan of these speakers. While buying speakers is a personal thing, I don't think you can beat them for the cost. They are an especially good deal for Americans who would come to Canada and buy them. They sell for roughly the same price here as they do in the US, only in Canadian $---you would save about 35 to 40 percent right there. You could also apply for a rebate of the GST (a 7 percent federal sales tax), and if you buy them in Alberta, you could do even better--theres no provincial sales tax there!

IMO, the Paradigm Reference series is a level or two above their value-oriented Monitor line.

Before you head up to Canada, I would recommend that you first check with a few Canadian Paradigm Reference dealers about their inventory. Some dealers do not carry much stock (i.e., do special orders when requested). There is a dealer locator at www.paradigm.ca

Also, you should be able to get 15-25% off the Canadian MSRP's. Generally, Canadian MSRP's are about 10% more than the US MSRP's, but are in Canadian dollars. Exchange rate is about US$0.68=CDN$1.

Good luck.

I really like them, too. I could not really afford the Reference series, but I did get a pair of Moniter 7s, mini moniters, CC350 and a PS1200 sub. Combined with my Denon 3300, these things are amazing for movies! I know you could do a lot better for music, but they still are not bad for that either. I especially like the sub. It shakes my whole neighborhood.
