Easy answwer: No.
Confusing answer: Maybe.

I've heard of a bunch of cheap branded discs that seem to work in the Tosh players, SD-1200 included, one being Prico (Priceco?) I can't seem to remember the name, and we don't have that cheap brand where I live. Remember reading something about Pacific Digital too, but cannot remember if it was favorable or not. I've never read anything personally about any mainstream discs(Maxell, Memorex, TDK, Sony, Mitsubishi, KAO, Verbatim, etc) reading in Tosh. players.

If anyone has any success with DC-R's/RW's in Toshiba players, please!!!! POST!

I had the Sony 530D and it would not play any of my CD-R's (Memorex brand). I now have a Sony 7700 and it plays my CD-R's with no problem.

All of the current Pioneer players have dual lasers reads and will play Cd-Rs and CD-RW 99 times out of a hundred...

Check out the Pioneer 525 for around $220...

Particular CDR's, Yes. The only CDR that I've had success with is the 'PRINCO' brand CDR. Send a note to the PRINCO corporation to locate a retailer in your area.
