I need a receiver to hook up my DVD player, television, stereo, etc... What is the best receiver for my money (around $200 or less preferably). Dolby Digital out is a plus, but definately not a necessity.

Thanks for your help!

Pick out a low priced receiver with DD and DTS and go to pricescan.com and see who has it for the lowest price. Then go to Sears with the price on paper and they will match (make sure they have it in stock). I just did this for a sub and it worked like a charm, the tax was lower than the shipping.

GOOD LUCK!

Since when did Sears start matching internet prices? Has anyone else done this with success?

when did Sears start matching internet prices

I had Sears match prices with an Internet site to purchase tires a couple of years ago... quite a savings. But, the last time I wanted to do this, they said they couldn't match Internet quotes. It sure can't hurt to give it a try.

This is what I did to get a dolby digital receiver for less than 200. I went through Brandsforless to J and R music and ordered the Onkyo 474 for 199. BFL was have a 30 off 100 rebate (they have similar rebates all the time) with free shipping so net cost of the receiver is 170. Caveat: the receiver has dolby digital but is only DTS ready plus it only has 50 watts of power in surround mode. It is fine for me but if you own a large listening area it will not be enough power.
