I have been in search of some new speakers as well, and one of the companies that hasn't been talked about much on this board is Definitive. If anybody is familiar with these, I would appreciate any help that you can offer. The ones that I have been looking at are the ProTower 400's, and a number of their BiPolar models. I'm looking to put together a complete 5 speaker system (powered sub can come later).

I have the BP2000/CLR2000/BPX system for about three years and love them. Recent addition of an HGS-18 makes it even better. Check out hometheaterforum, a few folks there seem to like & own Def Tech speakers.

I have the Definitive Technology 3000TL mains, a 3000CLR center, and 2002TL's are rears.
Had them for a year now...no regrets. Excellent speakers.
Definately, DEFINATELY (no pun intended) check these out if you want to emphasize movies. You will NOT need a seperate subwoofer. Personally, I would go with ML or B&W if it were strictly for music, but don't get me wrong...these sound great on music as well.
Oh, and I had a tweeter start making strange noises in my 2004 rear, so I called Definitive Tech (a US company). They sent me out a new tweeter next-day air...no charge. Great dependable company that stands by their product.

For a while I thought the bass from the powered SW's in the BP2000 would be sufficient until I added the Velodyne HGS-18. Just like when I thought they were good enough for both movie & music until...
Even with the BP3000, fact that the crossover is fixed internally and these powered towers can't be corner loaded (in fact very limited placement options) like a destinated SW making them inadequate for the lowest octave or the tightest bass.
If interested check out this review.

Don't get me wrong. I still love my Def Tech + Velodyne system esp. with movies and wouldn't trade them for anything else.
