Questions about the Logitech880 or something comparable

So my mom wants to get me something around $130 for xmas (what she spent on my girlfriend) and noticed that you can get the Logitech 880 for $125 at Amazon. I've been looking at remotes and know that I won't spend this much on a remote for myself. My biggest question is it worth 125 or is there something better around the same price. The other question is that are most of the bad reviews because people are dumb and can't figure out how to program it properly. Also the only other caveat my mom is afraid of the internet so if there is something better it would have to be at a b&m or Amazon (someone can help here find it there anywhere else probably wouldn't get it)

Lots of stuff there;

1st - $125 is not a lot to spend on a remote. In fact it would probably be considered the upper end of inexpensive remotes. There are many, many, MANY more expensive remotes available.
2nd - It is worth every penny. And then some. The 880 is probably the only item I paid full retail for in my entire theater (see my sig). And I still think it is/was a great value. You should treat yourself and spend "that much".
3rd - It is possible Best Buy might set it up for you. But to be honest...if you or her are scared of the net, might not be the wisest purchase. Often the initial set up will work fine, but just as often some tweaking will be needed. The remote uses the net for set up. This is a GREAT feature as they continually add the newed hardware that make it easy to set up.
4th - if you really don't want to spend that much, there are less expensive Harmony's. They all work EXACTLY the same way for use and programing. The difference is in button lay out, screen and in the case of the 880 a rechargeable battery and color screen.

You do realize it's JULY, right?

And there's an ongoing thread about Logitech remotes, it's been on the front page for several weeks: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-home-th...endations.html

Ok to straighten things out I have no problem with the net or programming things myself and would prefer it in this case if I can build computers for people and install software for them too I should be able to handle the remote although I might have a question or 2 . The only reason why I asked about the negative reviews is there a bunch of reviews on sites for this remote and the few bad ones I saw were either for the cradle being bad or they seemed to stupid to use the thing I just wanted to make sure there was no other issues with this remote. She is afraid of the net so ordering from some sites that I know of but she wouldn't even know how to navigate it would be a problem.
Second I realize it is July do you realize a lot of older people like to buy xmas really,really early. She had my girlfriends present for like 6 weeks now.
Also I read that thread which is sort of led me to the 880 that and it is on sale right now and fit into the price range I was given.
Third I realize that it is not a lot of money for a remote so I should be more specific there is no way the woman will let me spend more then like 25 bucks on a remote because we don't have a lot of money right now and we are trying to save money so getting it as a present is sort of a compromise . If I was still single then I would blow a lot more money on my home theatre, but I am not so getting her to let me look at bigger tvs is a start and we will go from there.

Also thanks for the responses I didn't want my question to get lost in the other thread.
