Just be warned, you get what you pay for. Buy a GE player and you will get GE quality.

If you have a hardware decoder card installed along with your DVD rom drive, you can output video to your TV and audio to your receiver.
Or you could buy the decoder card for about $120.
Those would be the cheapest way to go.
Otherwise, check out www.pricewatch.com as they have a consumer electronics section that covers DVDs.
Keep in mind that there have been numerous compatibility problems with some of the cheaper brands of players (RCA, Apex, Sharp, JVC). You're better off going with something like a Toshiba 1200 (replacement for the 2109) or the Pioneer 525. You can find both of these for under $300 and they are very good players with only a few problems (this early in the game, all players have one problem or another).
Also, www.audioreview.com is a good place to look up info on players and other HT hardware.
You also might want to browse through the past topics of this forum as there have been many answers to this type of question before.
Good luck.
