Dolby TrueHD problem with Sharp Blu Ray Player
OK friends, I need a little help here.
I have a Sharp BDHP20U player hooked to my Toshiba 40" via an HDMI Cable. I have no sound system at the moment so there is no reciever. Everything is hooked directly from the player to the TV.
Most discs look and sound fine, but the problem is with any disc with Dolby TrueHD sound. I usually have to crank the volume to nearly double the level that I would otherwise just to hear anything clearly. And when I do that the music/sound effects/what have you normally drown out the dialogue. This only seems to happen with TrueHD discs. Anybody have any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Is your player sending a bitstream or LPCM? Maybe you should have it downmix everything to 2.0. Maybe Dynamic Range Compression is turned on. (Or night mode or similar) I'd also check these settings on your TV.
