Anyone use audio test tone CD's to set up their system? If so, where can I get one? Did a web search and got nothing.

Try out Avia's Guide to Home Theater DVD or Video Essentials DVD for all your audio and video calibration needs.

I have both and find them both very useful, but AVIA is much easier to navigate and very informative as well.

You can find either DVD at any major DVD etailer (Reel, Express...ect).

Thanks, I saw a few at Barnes/Noble online, but there wasn't much info. Didn't say if it would do surround or just stereo.

As Ichiban says get either Avia or VE, and yes they both will set up your surround system. As it says on the Avia disc, it would be helpful to have a SPL meter (From Radio Shack---its the cheapest) to calibrate your audio---if you are a perfectionist.

Actually the reason I want the test disk is that a dealer told me to get a RS - SPL meter to graph out my homemade front speakers. After I do this, it will be easier to try and match a center! (or build one!)

You can rent Video Essentials and/or Avia's Guide to Home Theater from Hollywood, netflix.com, ... if you want to give it a quick try. Owning one these in the long run is VERY useful.

avia is a lot better than VE. It's my understanding that VE is just a copy of the laserdisc, so the video test patterns/pulses are copies whereas with avia you are essentially seeing the real thing. the guy who did avia often posts on usenet's home-theater board and on the home-theater web-page (don't have the url handy but I'm sure someone can help out). you can get a handy faq he made to help out with purchasers of the dvd. the disc is well worth it, even if for just calibrating your television set once. I haven't really used the audio portion much yet as I don't have a sub to try and integrate and my receiver test tones so far have been sufficient to set the overall levels. I would definately buy avia though, my toshiba set looks much better than with the factory settings.
