Here's what I'm going to try this week (since I'm on vacation) ...

Marantz SR8002
Integra 8.9
Onkyo TXNR906

I would include the Integra 7.9 but it uses a Cirrus DAC chipset (as opposed to the Burr-Brown in the 8.9+). I've come across some conflicting information on quality of the Cirrus chips. My lowly Intregra 6.2 (almost a decade old) uses Burr-Brown and I really have liked the performance of it for HT purposes. And it was only adequate musically, but better than the HK using the same material.
