Tv purchase
Thoughts on this tv?

I'm going to use my tax refund, anyone have this set, or can recommend a better one around the same price? Only thing I'm worried about is glare...
I'm not really concerned about 1080p at this size in the face that I will be sitting around 8 feet away.
Thanks.

I don't believe that's such a great price.
My dad bought that same TV over a year ago at Circuit City for less money than that.
You may want to shop around a little more.

What ever you do don't buy from Conn's. I bought my TV from there and it was the worse buying experience I have ever had. And there is nothing wrong with the TV!

Well, I ended up with the Samsung 4264 42" plasma which was a model up from the one I was going to get. I went to Frys on day and it was $1199. They had it on sale on friday for $899.
Hell of a deal, it gets a kick ass picture. Now I'm contimplating getting the extended warranty from frys.

great price and a very good tv. i would avoid the warranty though. i cant imagine you could ever justify the price of it v. the tv price.
did you use a credit card that doubles the warranty?

$90 doesn't sound to bad. Not sure you "need" it. And you need to be sure it truly 3 years and not 2. Meaning for some warranty's they include hte makers warranty. So if Samsung offers a 1 year warranty with purchase your 3 year warranty may only cover 3 years not 4 (3+ the makers).
I did a little research and might buy a warranty from this company,

I have a LCD under $1,500 so $120. As you can see Plasma's are a lot more. That would mean plasma's have issue's more often and/or cost more when they do have an issue.
Warranty is all about comfort level. You likely will never need. But even if 95% of Samsung owners never have a problem, that doesn't really make you feel better if your one of the 5% that do.
