Problems with Toshiba SD-V393???

I recentlty burned some home movies to DVD for someone using IDVD for Mac. The discs tested fine on my Harmon Kardon DVD player, Panasonic DVD player, and Onkyo DVD player. However, my customer is having problems with every movie on his Toshiba SD-V393 DVD/VCR combo. Some of the movies play then stop before completion. Or, if you enter one of 1963 through 1970, for example, 1975 will play instead. It's a nightmare! His daughter tried a different burned copy on her DVD player with the same results, but I'm not sure what brand she's using yet. Bear in mind that these discs played trouble free on my players.

Has anyone heard of this before? Do Toshiba DVD players have trouble playing DVD-R's? Is there a website that lists the DVD players that have this problem? Thanks to all who reply!
