need receiver advice please.
hello all,
i am in the process of getting my updated HT set up and am in the market for a new receiver. i would like to spend as little money as possible (preferably under $400), but will have a directv hd-dvr, an hd-dvd player, and probably an xbox 360 going through it. after looking around, i think that the Onkyo TX-SR575 looks fairly good at a decent price. does anyone have any opinons on this model? a review i read over at cnet said that it had some hdmi issues specifically, "when hooking up a DVD player with and HDMI connection, the unit couldn't output to the surround sound speakers without also connecting an optical coaxial cable for sound. "
thanks for any help.

I have the onkyo 605. I have the HD a2 and ps3 hooked up to with the two HDMI ports and I use conponets for my direct tv satalite in HD.
works fine with my system.
I got mine for 399 through J&R back east.

another question...is there a simple way to describe all of the audio formats? i have always had 5.1 DD/DTS and that's all the speakers that i have for right now and i don't see myself getting more than that anytime soon. with at least an A2 HD-DVD hooked up to the previously mentioned onkyo reciever, should i be okay if in the future i decide to get more speakers?

In terms of speakers, yes:
5.1
6.1
7.1
Mostly 5.1, some on DVD and the new discs are 6.1. A few are finally going to be 7.1, and that is likely to be the future.
In practical terms, these aren't a whole lot different, and they still all work together no matter whether you have 5.1 or 7.1 speakers.
