Need suggestions on theater sign

I am in the process of building a home theater, and have looked at some different personalized marques – and this one from ebay looks good to me. So first – has anyone purchased from this guy before, or have opinions on the sign?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Personalized-Cus...QQcmdZViewItem

Also, if I go with this sign, I get to select two logos – but I am not sure what to go with. I had thought about some of my equipment brand names, but if I do an upgrade later, the sign might become outdated. So I thought about audio logos, and think I like THX and Dolby TrueHD. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Also need to come up with a tag line, ie – “best show in town” or “my theater kicks your theater’s ass”. Since these are not very good, I am looking for better suggestions. I checked with the wife, and she will not let me use “pee in her butt”.

Thanks!

My last name will already be on the sign - in the "Welcome to the twikoff Home Theater". I don't want to also have it in the tag line.

No offense, I don't like that sign. I know that wasn't your question, but for that kind of money it doesn't do anything for me.

I'd custom make your own. I don't have a picture of mine, but I did a DIY one for about $25. It is lighted, based on this thread from AVS,

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=810621

Basically it is a shadow box from Michaels (on sale for $15) where you put foil on the back piece and hot glue rope lighting in it. Then drill a hole in the side for the cord. The print you can do yourself, or since I didn't have a large printer or nice program, I had the OP on the thread do it and I paid him for it + shipping.

I wanted to put it in my theater so I only used a 6' rope light, but I might go back and use a 12' foot one and put it on a dimmer.

I am actually looking for opinions on the sign, so I appreciate yours. I had considered something like you are talking about (though not a DIY), but I decided I don't want to have a cord hanging down - it is going on a wall above the stairscase so now outlets around.

So given that I want a non-lit sign, any other suggestions or places to look?

Well, you could get creative, but most would entail DIY. Honestly, I'm a cheapo and just can't get myself to pay the kind of $$ most on line stores want for a custom sign.

I thought about making my sign batter powered so no cord. Or just framed and no light. There are lot of things you could do. Look around over at AVS, lots of options.

I bought one off ebay from a different seller, and it looked good on ebay and looked like crap up close. I think that is something you really need to see in real life before buying.

Yes, and I liked the look of the sign - but I still don't like the idea of having something that has to plug in.

Any thoughts on other signs that would look good, but don't light up?
