Component Cables (Monoprice) Cheap vs. Premium

Honestly, what is the difference in quality? The price difference is almost 8 dollars. Not a big deal...just curious as I was going to purchase a couple fo the cheapos.

For 3', nothing. They appear to be the same quality in build, just thicker cable for the premiums. Thicker for video only matters once it is long enough to matter. If you suddenly need a 50' cable, go for the RG-6 version.

The connectors are far better on the premium cables. I just bought a set of the bargain cables from Monoprice, because I'll only be using them for a few months until I upgrade to an HDMI-capable DVD player. The connectors are very cheap and loose-feeling. For only $8 difference, I'd get the premium cables.

I agree with Mr. Salty.

Connectors are often overlooked as people judge the cable by price and thickness. That is one reason why I will still buy a Monster Cable if I need one and I can get a good price on one. Their connectors are excellent.

Okay, the cables are awesome! Very impressed. Shipped Friday, arrived today! I probably should have gone with a six foot code but it just fits so, no problem ..at least for a while. Just gotta give big to monoprice!

They work really well and aren't cheaply made by any means.
