Need help in chooseing a Theater system.

I bought a all in on Panasonic Home Theater system last year and i'm not very happy with it. If you all can help this is what i'm looking for:

1. A stand alone Receiver with DTS 5.1 with speakers.
2. Connects to DVD player, CABLE TV, ORIGINAL XBOX, and a TURNTABLE (I used to collect records when i was young ok )
3. I have to get it from Amazon and cost around $400.00 because that's what i have in coupons with them, I may be able to go $500.00

I live in a home so the Living Room is pretty big. I have a very good sony 35 inch TV, its 5 years old and still going strong.

Frankly Spiky, I don't think that would be a marked improvement over what he has now.

Well, tough to tell without knowing what it is. I assumed he has one of those $100-200 all-in-ones. And he is looking to get new speakers in that price, too. Limits things a bit.

Onkyo isn't bad. They are about the only company that uses a real receiver in these sets. No doubt that HK would be better, but over his budget.

Really? It's $303, well under (though w/o speakers, true).

Don't have time to look at links at the moment, but off the cuff I'd recommend spending the money on a good receiver and sticking with the speakers that came with the HTIB, even though I'm sure they are below par. That way you can use future certificates towards speakers. No use in stepping everything up a notch.

edit:

Looks like you can get the KEFs direct from accessories4les.com for $295.

assuming this is a legit retailer, this a super HOT deal IMHO.
