Phillips rear projection tv prob

This past weekend my brother-in-law was playing some PS2 on the tv and then he turned the tv off. He tries to turn the tv on again after a few minutes, but nothing happens. It wouldn't turn on via the remote or with the Power button on the tv. I tried switching power outlets, even though I knew that there were no power probs, and still no power. I ended up leaving the tv unplugged for like an hour or so and then then it turned on after I plugged it in again. Should I be worried?

Well I don't know if you should be worried or not. How old is the TV? It sounds like the power supply is failing, unless it is a heat issue with blocked air vents.

I am in the same boat my Panasonic 47wx49 did a similar thing, was watching it, then it turned off, and wouldn't come back on. I unplugged and then replugged, turned on for like 1 second, no rastor/video, then turned off. Left off for a day some thing, what I have read is a protection circuit is sensing a fault so turns itself off. So now I need to take it apart and troubleshoot it, fun stuff. I hate to trash the TV it has been great, but I am not going to put $500 into it. Sucks though I am back to a 27" tube, ick.
