I need a remote (Samsung LCD TV)

My dad recently purchased a Open Box Samsung LCD TV (LN-R237W). It did not come with a remote (BN59-00544 model). Anyone know where I can get a remote for it? He would really like one. Not sure if Universal remotes will work as good as the original. He would like something where he can adjust the settings, change inputs and use PIP (since he has it hooked up as a PC monitor also)

Thanks

You can get a replacement directly from Samsung here. It's $50 and in stock.

You could probably get a universal remote, though I doubt it would have the more dedicated buttons like setup, aspect, etc.

Hmmm, thanks...I know he was trying to not have to pay $50 for the remote. I wonder if the BN59-0377 would work (those are all over EBAY)

It might. I have two Samsung DLP's, one from 2002 and one I just bought last week, and the respective remotes work on both sets.

Thanks for the site...still overpriced. You are half way to a REAL Harmony remote for the prices people want.

Which is why I bought a Harmony 680 when I found out that it would cost $75 to replace my Mits remote. Why spend that much when for a few bucks more you can replace that one remote and so much more?

Open box price suddenly went up, eh? Sometimes you can go back to the store and get someone to find you a remote. I got Sears to find a remote and manual for my open box purchase. I think they even ordered them, and didn't charge me more, memory a bit fuzzy.

Well, I don't think my Dad is complaining much...he got the LCD for $300, I cannot even find a 23" Samsung for double that price.
