Another DVD Player Recommendation Request...
Looking for a reliable, single-disc DVD player that plays as many types of discs/files as possible. I'm replacing an Onkyo which continues to play DVDs but has stopped playing audio CDs and MP3 discs for some reason. (I need the player to play those because it -- along with the surround sound system -- doubles as a stereo in my living room.)
I know people have in the past recommended the Philips DVP642, which is certainly reasonable at $58 from Amazon and seems to play everything, including other regions' disks, which would be a nice bonus. But are there other players around $100 -- cheaper's better, of course, or slightly higher would be OK too -- that I should be looking at?
Thanks for the help.

I second the Pioneer player....mine is GREAT. And I HAD a Panasonic RP82 (before it died).
I think I got the 588 (which I think is the same is the 285 but has SACD & DVD-Audio)
I probably should've just got the 285 since I have yet to use SACD...oh well.

You can pick one up at your local Target.
