I would opt for CRT, frankly.

Not too often. Nothing. AFAIK, anyway.
Sometimes if you rub on them (Lightly!!) right away they can become unstuck. I know that sounds weird, but facts are facts. If it is some sort of projector you can't do this anyway since the LCD panel is buried inside and you will most likely screw it up far worse by touching it.
Stuck pixels: I have zero on my 17" monitor. I have 3 on my laptop screen. I have no interpretation of this statistically, though.
BTW, in LCD projectors there is a screen (probably 1 or more for each panel) that the light shines through before or after the LCD panels. To give the proper colors. Sometimes after years of use this gets dirty to the point it is visible onscreen. This is another issue with LCD PJs that has been confused with burn-in. It can be cleaned. Carefully!! Not an issue for flat panel LCDs. By way of comparison, the color wheel in DLPs can also get dirty after years of use and can be cleaned.

Hopefully I'll be picking up a Sony 50" A10 LCD sometime this month. I'd planned to pick it up last Friday (on sale @ Fry's for $1999), but the guy who ran into my Avalanche on 635 changed my plans all of a sudden. There's a whopping great thread over at AVSForum on the A10s and another on the A20s.
The big difference between A10s (42"/50") and A20s (55"/60") is that the A10 has a adjustable Iris that allows you to alter the contrast/black levels as you please.
