DIY Matte Question
Hey all,
I have read about people applying a matte to the edges of their tv's to enhance contrast, etc. However, if i have a widescreen TV, and the DVD is 16x9 enhanced, and in turn, properly filling the entire screen, would there still be any benefit to applying a matte beyond the edge of the screen/tv? I ask this because from what I understand it helps reduce glare on the "black bar" portion of the screen that would be there....
Anyone have any pics of their Homemade Mattes?
Thanks,
Matte

I don't bother on my widescreen TV, but I've heard of people using them for 2.35 movies since you still get (smaller) blackbars. You have to watch out for subtitles and such being in the lower blackbar though.
If the edges of your console are a shiny material, then it would most likely benefit from the mattes.
