Blue Screen problem
I hope someone can help, as I'm not all that technical. I recently acquired a Jaton 7611, a Samsung 1080i widescreen, and hook them together with Monster component cables. I've been very satisfied with the results, until recently. Periodically, when I start my system up, instead of the Jaton logo, I get a blank blue screen (the sound is fine -- if I play a dvd I get great sound, blank blue screen). Restarting doesn't help, but if I unplug and replug the component cables, that usually resolves the problem. However, last time I did that the cables brought the plug "housing" with them; I've also noticed that this is happening with increasing frequency -- now about once a week. It first occurred about two months after I had the system, then every four weeks or so for a couple of months. Can anyone help? Is it likely to be a problem with the television, the dvd player, or the cables? Thanks.

I think you answered your own question. "However, last time I did that the cables brought the plug "housing" with them" Whatever the "housing" is attached to (DVD player or TV) is where the problem is. Hope the component is under warranty.

Thanks for the reply, GM. The "housing" (the little metallic shell that contains the colored plastic ring) that came off was on the television. However, there are two sets of component inputs on the television, and the same happens on the other set. That makes me think it's either a flaw in the television's circuitry or something wrong in the cables. Any other suggestions?
