Everyone and their uncle recommends the Radio Shack ANALOG meter. It's standard for HT setup. Here's a linky:

http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=33%2D4050

[If that doesn't work it's Catalog #: 33-4050]

And it has Progressive Scan!! $^)

If you're looking for this meter, I'd recommend buying it on line. When I was looking for it a few months back, I couldn't find it at any Radio Shack store, at least in the Los Angeles area. They told me that it was discontinued, and the only one that was available was the electronic one. (I don't know if that's true or not.) But either way you might be able to get it on line -- unless you get lucky and find a store that still has an analog sitting around.

The Digital readout meter is taking over. Still costs under $50 at Radio Shack and is fantastic. As mentioned above, this is recommended for everybody with a HT setup.

The analog model is recommended over the digital and that model is often sold out online but can be found in stores although you may have to search for one. I found one and its great.

kayak99 is right. For sound the analog meter is often preferred AND recommended over digital meters.

Yeah, get the analog meter. I've got one, like it. Had no problem finding it at my RS when I bought it a couple years ago, just went up to the counter and asked for it.
