What's going on with my Denon?

Hopefully you can help me out. I purchased an AVR 2800 used around a year ago. Everything was working properly and great until it started to short out every so often. What happens is this, it will be playing music or the movie just fine for sometimes hours, or sometimes just minutes, and then all of a sudden the sound switches off and it is replaced by "white noise" (I don't know if that's the technical term for it but its the crackling sound when your tv channel does not come in). What seems odd to me is that it does this at a range of volume levels, not just when it is turned up. Also, often times simply moving the AVR unit a little or stomping on the floor will cause it to go back to normal. I'm not sure what's causing this and hope that you could help me out or what I need to do. Any help would be great, the receiver rocks except for that one small problem.

Oh, and by the way, The Denon pushing Fluances would be more than enough for any normal (non-audiophile) type person to have. Flaunces suprising rock hard and any questions about them should be laid to rest.

Thanks.

I would start by checking, cleaning and retightening all of your connections, especially the speaker connections.

If that fails I would test the receiver with one source at a time to see if it is a source component.

If that fails it may be the receiver.
