Does anyone know if there is a cd or dvd that has frequency samples to setup your speaker positions and the equalizer or curve that you prefer ? In the past, I have used a function generator to an auxilary input, but its a little cumbersome and I thought someone out there put some samples of different sounds for 5 channel.

Avia (not sure where to get, unless there is a www.avia.com)

I'm not sure what options are on the discs. I've never used one myself..............yet.

Avia & DVE both have a speaker setup with a test tone.

Avia has an LFE/Subwoofer sweep that allows you to test the lowest point your sub will produce.

I personally like the DVE better. I have both Avia & DVE and the menu structure and tweaks seem easier to use on the DVE disc.

The mentioned DVDs help set the speaker volumes - from reading your post, I'm not clear if that's what you're looking for or not.

With one of those calibration disks, you'd want a sound level meter to make sure the sound levels are matched - you can get one for $35 at Radio Shack.

Make sure to purchase the analog version of the SPL (sound pressure level) meter from Radio Shack!!! The digital one does not work as well for this use.
