Dish Network - how does this deal look?

My suspicious mind says it sounds too good to be true.

My needs:
I need satellite on three sets
I don't want premium channels or sports channels (HBO, Cinemax, ESPN, etc)
I want local channels + the basics like Discovery, Disney, Nick, etc

Does Dish Network charge by the # of tvs, or just by the programming package?

If it comes with 3 dish 301 receivers, then you aren't getting a digital video record. 301 is just a standard receiver.

They always have killer deals for new customers. This sounds like one of the Digital Home Plan promotions though, where you don't actually own the equipment, you are just "leasing" it from them.

You'll get the standard package charge (which is going to be like $35/month or so depending on which of the 3 main packages you select) + $10/month extra for having 2 extra receivers.

Here is the deal I got, but unfortunately couldnt use it, because i wasn't getting the correct angle for the Dish (I livr in rented apt with restrictions on where all i can install the dish )

• 1 dish antenna
• 2 DISH 301 receivers
• 1 PVR Receiver
• FREE Standard Professional Installation

Free Equip and Free 1st month (use a referral code from existing Dish Network member)

3 Mths of Free programming 100 channels+HBO & Cinemax (Usually for $49.99) - 1+3 (4) Mths free programming

I had decided to downgrade to their America's 50 Plan after the 4 Free mths were over @ 24.99

The Additional receivers/PVR would cost 5bucks per receiver extra per mth

Try to get a referral code from someone already a DN user that will get you a credit of $49 making your first mth free too with free equip

Edit: - I do have a referral card lying with me, email me your address and I will mail it to you (I dont benefit from this since I am not a DN member, but if you can save some money, its good for you.) [email protected]

""""""
I 've been told that Direct TV may work (angle of Dish) so now i am waiting for a similar good deal on DTV with the HD package - I dont want to pay for the HD equip basically like the regular SD package - dont know how long will i have to wait.......
