Big Screen TV question
Howdy:
A colleague of mine asked me what I though about
http://www.yourownbigscreen.com/
I have never heard of it before. I guess it sounds too good to be true. Picture quality must not be that great if it does work.
Anymore heard of this before?
Thanks

My first thought was "camera obscura", but then I found this on gobigtv.com (or something like that):
"(1) One of the highest quality 3X Fresnel Lenses ever seen on the internet! Don't be fooled 3x is really the highest power these lens come in."
The way folks piss and moan about DVD edge enhancements, I think that they would drop bricks over the image quality (not to mention the brightness - can you say "inverse square law"?) with this deal.
Reminds me of the "Color TV Convertors" sold in the 60's (damn, but I'm getting old ...) They were plastic sheets printed with a blue band across the top (for the sky ...) and a green band across the bottom ( for that realistic green grass, or lips, or car tires ...)

On Friday's The Screen Savers they put one of these together and the picture looked like crap.
It's just a cardboard box with a cheesy looking lense duct taped on the end.

Pauline C. from CA looked so blissfully mind blown by the size and performance of the XLTV in the scam....er, ad shown in the link that I had to give in and order.
