Onkyo HT-S767C 6.1 component system
I've been shopping for a surround system for a while (four years actually - since I got my first player) - I came across the Onkyo HT-S767C component system - Its got 6.1 sound and a progressive scan player for $780 total - which sounds pretty sweet to me. 2 Questions - Is 6.1 sound worth the extra cash? and Does anybody have an Onkyo system on which they could comment?

onkyo has a very good reputation and i only hear good things. i only see good things out of my system. i give it a huge thumbs up. im not sure on your exact system but im sure it will be good for the money.

I have the Onkyo HTS 650 and have been very pleased with it. It sounds as good as systems I've heard that cost much more (I paid $450 for it). It's 5.1, so I can't really comment on how much of a difference 6.1 makes, but I can vouch for the Onkyo brand.
