Dumb question regarding progressive scan heh...
Hi guys! I have a question.
Would my Big screen TV, a 65" Toshiba widescreen with component video inputs but is NOT HD compatible benefit from a progressive scan image? In other words are progressive scan images only beneficial to HDTVs?

I don't think Tosh ever made a widescreen tv that wasn't a HDTV. But if it isn't but it's digital and accepts 480p signals you'll be good. However some early model Toshibas that were HDTV would upconvert 480p to 540p and most times didn't gain anything due to the upconversion.

Yes they did!!!!
It's the "G80"(last three digits) and it was right before they starded making them with HD compatibility. Got it in 1998. I does have a line doubler and dvds look fantastic. But I am not sure on 480p thing. How can I find out?
