I have the model under this (845, its the same receiver it just has a few less sound fields and no A/V jacks on the front). I believe the option you are looking for is under the MENU settings, and you might have to use the remote to change them - the MENU button on the remote or revceiver should bring you to the speaker settings as you scroll through it.

I made a mistake, you need to use the SETUP button on the receiver - just push that and scroll through until you get to the speaker size - it will look like "FRONT[LARGE]". Then use the jog-dial to change the size.

there isn't a button called SETUP? Perhaps it's the MENU button for you (although I have both buttons).

I don't think you can set the sub to large, at least I don't recall changing mine. I even flipped through the settings to make sure what I was telling you was right, and I don't recall there being a subwoofer setting at all.

There isn't a sub setting to large or small. The speakers, when set to large or small, will determine what frequencies are sent to the sub. Large=less lower frequencies to the sub, small=more lower frequencies to the sub.
