DirectTV/Tivo HDTV Question

DirectTV/Tivo HDTV Question
Hey guys - based upon my last post where I got a ton of good info I am either getting the Pioneer Plasma 43"PDPCMX or Sony Proj 46WT500 - money may be an issue but all money aside any one like the Sony better?
Main question is when I buy either TV, in order to watch HDTV - I know I need a receiver (checked out a few HDTV/Direct tV receivers) do I need an additional satellite dish to get the HDTV signal? I also have TIVO and am addicted. Can I hook up my Tivo/Direct TV along with this additional receiver (I know it won't record in HDTV). I figure that will get me until Dec/Jan when HDTIVO comes out. I can then sell the receiver and lose a few bucks - but also not have a gun to my head if HDTIVO is over $1,000!
So any comments - TV, dish, Tivo - what do I need. Thanks as always!
