Coaxial output, optical input...how to connect?

I have digital cable, and the other day I was trying to remember why I hadnt hooked up everything so that I could receive 5.1 on television broadcasts which featured 5.1. Upon investigating, I realized that this was because the digital cable receiver has a coaxial digital audio out, whereas my receiver only has an optical audio in marked for the TV (there is one coaxial audio in, but its marked for the DVD player). Is there a way I can still make this connection? Is there a coaxial->optical adapter out there that I cant seem to find?

Yes, there are converters. You could also just use the "DVD" input for your TV, and the "TV" for your DVD, assuming your DVD player has optical out. They are just labels. It doesn't matter what device is plugged in.
