I am moving into my first house, and have a small budget to get some things I need to move my home theater. I need new wire for my surrounds. Any reccomendations?

And check out Home Depot or Lowes for some 12awg wire. Should suit you needs and budget.

I bought a spool from the depot. I think it was 20-30 bucks. I also went 16 AWG, I feel that it is sufficient. I also think there was a thread before. Search speaker wire, here is an earlier thread with some prices, and discusses which guage:

I use 12 gauge wire and I wrap the ends really really snug, to keep the oxygen out. Damn oxygen, always wanting to merge with whatever comes over the fence.

Get the Carol insulated 12ga wire at Parts express. It is reasonable and is far better than what you can get at HD or Lowes for the money. I used it in my new home theater. The pairs are twisted and it has an outer jacket minimizeing interference.

Another notable brand there is sound king.
