Looking for cheap, cd player + 2 speaker set (components) for me mums

Alright, I've no clue here when it comes to putting together component audio equipment. But here's my deal, I'm looking to put something cheap together for me mums (sub $150) that includes a cd player and 2 shelf/floor speakers. I want components so it can be added to later but I really don't know where to start/if this is even possible so if anyone has some suggestions/reccommendations I'd apprecaite it. Thanks much!

Are you talking about something like this? I've heard these types and they sound pretty good for the size and $, this one seems to be rated pretty good on amazon..

well, was actually thinking about component's, I know that KLH makes a $50 6cd changer, things like that, get a couple of cheap bookshelf or floor speakers, etc. Don't know if it can be done for my price limit. Thanks though!

keep in mind that you'll need a cd player, a receiver (or amplifier), and a pair of speakers. It's going to be tough to do all that for $150.

It can be done if you are willing to buy used. Otherwise, I think $250-300 is about as low as you can go for a CD Player + Receiver + Pair of Speakers.
