Question about Sony tvs.
Does anyone out there know of a Sony Wega Flatscreen tv with 16:9 widescreen? I need one that is 27 inches or less wide the 27" Sony Wega flatscreen widescreen is too wide for the Entertainment center in my room. If anyone knows of one that is 27 inches wide or less please leave a post. Thank you

I think you are going to be out of luck.
Sony KV-24FV300 is a 24 inch flat screen that is 27 1/8 wide but is not widescreen. To get a widescreen tv you probably need a new entertainment center.

You're looking for the Sony KV27FS200. It's a 27 inch Vega with a 4:3 tube that has 16:9 enchanced mode. I have the older version of it which was out until spring of this year. Very good picture for not being a high end tv.

There's another model that is about $150 more that has automatic 16:9 and Picture in Picture.

He doesn't want a diagonal screen size that is 27" he wants a TV that has an overall width (including side speakers) of 27" or less to fit into his cabinet. The KV-27FS200 is a hefty 30 - 1/4" in width which will not fit his requirements. The 24" Sony models (that are standard or 4:3) don't offer 16:9 compression / anamorphic squeeze mode on any of the models I have ever seen listed. There aren't too many manufacturers that do put that feature on their "small" (less than 20") or even "midsize" (20" to 27") TV's. I have to agree with GMLSKIS here that you are most likely out of luck unless you are willing to get a new cabinet / entertainment center.
