Sony speaker question
Ok, I think i've decided to take back my Cerwin Vega speakers and get some Sony's
I'm looking at the following two versions:
Model: SSM-B300H and SSM-F400H
The 300's are bookshelf speakers, and the 400's are floorstanding. The only difference that I can tell though is that the 300's have an 8" woofer, and the 400's have a 6.5" woofer.
Why do the 400's cost 60 more bucks, and you get a smaller woofer?
Which ones are better?

I've listened to both the 300's and 400's in a demo, and if you're going to be using a subwoofer the 300's are all you need. There isn't much of a sound difference with them to begin with, the 400's have a bit more bass, but it's not a nice clean rich bass, it's just bass.

Its all about marketing. You will only get about 5Hz lower bass, which will not be a factor if you have a sup because the bottom will be cut any way. If you are looking at these I would guess you got them at Bestbuy. You might want to look at the competition at Circuit City. I know they have virtually identical ones from a different company (
) that are more efficient and have a better freq response for the same response.
