I still use my Sony DVP-S550D single-tray player. I will be celebrating its fourth birthday this summer (knock on wood). I have read how a lot of people have had problems w/ this model over the years, but I have been fairly fortunate so far. I plan on stepping up to a prog-scan as soon as I buy an HDTV - I think I will continue to wait a longer for that purchase, too. When I do go w/ a prog-scan, I still am not sure whether I will get a single-tray or a 5-disc player.

In the same room, I have the following:

Sony DVP-CX860 300 DVD Changer (Used for TV shows on DVD)
Pioneer DV-F727 300 DVD Changer (1st DVD player I bought)
Panasonic DV-RP56

I like the changers, and I haven't had any problem with any of them so far, but with not many to choose from and the lack of Progressive scan, I'll probably won't get any new DVD changers.

Same here. My 3 year old Sony S550D single disk player is still going strong with no problems.

Last month I also bought a $59 Daewoo, just to stick in an extra room.

Edit to add: It went with the 27" Daewoo TV I got for $159.
27" TV and DVD player for $220 total.

Both from my local supermarket.

Have a Panasonic DVD-CP72K 5 disc player and a Pioneer something.. single disc'er.

Panny gets most the use.
