TV Speakers On or Off?

So the other day I was playing with the setting on my TV and realized you can turn the integrated speakers off and go exclusively through receiver/stereo/speakers. DO y'all do this or do you leave the TV speakers on...???

Thanks!

With 5.1 you have to have them off! You have a center right?

I listen with the tv speakers for normal stuff and then use the system for movies (and mute the tv)

since only the video from my dvd player goes into the TV I have never bothered to mute my TV during playback since they are not outputing sound anyway.

Ditto. The audio from my DVD and LD players go directly to the Receiver

I muted the "fixed" or integrated speakers on my tv, set it to variable output and popped LOTR in my XBOX. It was like I had a WHOLE NEW system!

Thanks Guys!

I turned mine off the day I received my TV. But then again I always have my receiver on when I watch TV. I want to feel the effect of the Burger King comm.

My TV's own sound has been off since I got my 5.1 system.

I turned my TV's speakers off when I got my system, don't even use it to watch TV. The one thing I like is that even with the TV speakers off and just the 5.1 system going I can still adjust the volume through the TV (this doesn't work for DVD's though )
