Dropout Problem with Sony DVP-NS700P

Hello-

I'm new here and have an annoying problem with my Sony DVP-NS700P.

On some of my discs, the picture completely drops out for a few seconds. This usually happens near the beginning of the disc. Curiously, after the player has "warmed up" for about ten minutes or so, I can go back to the same spot on the disc and view it normally. Most discs play normally all the way through.

I've checked the wiring and even replaced my component video cable with no change. I have a Hitachi 43FDX01B TV. I mentioned the problem I was having to a local TV repairman and he stated that he had heard of some compatibility problems that some brands of DVD players were having with certain TVs.

Anyone else experiencing similiar problems or have any suggestions?

Thanks...
