Ever have this problem with your portable DVD player?

I was playing a movie in a car the other day. It worked fine and I turned it off.

I then moved to a different car and turned it on. The light went on, but the time display and screen did nothing. I've tried it about twenty times and it just won't do anything. I noticed it will have a slight flicker every twenty or thirty seconds like it's trying to fire up the screen.

I did not throw the player down or jar it so I'm not sure why it's got the attitude change.

Has anyone had a portable repaired? What was the general cost?

I just had my Panasonic portable die on me. It may some odd noises and then refused to spin.

I dropped it from 6" up and that fixed it. Not something I would recommend as a first repair choice.
