Wireless Speakers?

My uncle and aunt are completing construction of a huge log cabin. When they are done, they want to put in a hometheater but still retain the beauty of the logs. Because of this, they need Wireless Speakers for there surrounds. Which companies out there make high quality surround speakers?

Just my .02.

There are many companies making high quality surround sound speakers. I would not include wireless among them. I have known people who have had both success and failure with wireless speakers.

I would think given the fact that it is wood we are talking about, small cable could be run and either painted or covered to be nearly invisible.

Good luck.

Well, the problem with using cable is that these are logs. I would have preferably just put some surrounds on stands, but the room is so big that the wires would be tripped over. That leaves us with putting them up on the wall, and because the logs are curved, you would either have to glue the cables or use alot of staples to make sure the cable stayed on the walls. Also, painting the cables would not hide them as the logs do not hold the same color uniformly. The only option I see left is go with wireless or buy alot of furniture to conceal the wiring.

Wireless speakers?

Is this the same Joshd2012 that has been arguing the toss about the benefits of optical over co-ax?

You are going to need some damn fine kit to hide the effects of the wireless speakers.

You could always run the cables through the wall, outside, and back through the wall.

Okay, through Google, I have found a few more items.

Addicon

Sony

RCA

TERK Transmitter

Can anyone recommend any of these. I think that if that TERK transmitter works, it would be the best because then I could hook up any speakers I want. Please, any suggestions would help.

Don't you still have to plug these speakers into a power source? I would think you might as well just run the speaker wires. If not, do you really want to be replacing batteries every time you want to watch a movie?

But with wireless speakers, the transmission is even cleaner and more "pure" than coax *or* optical!!! What can be more impurity-free than electromagnetic waves traveling directly through space, no dirty cables of any sort to degrade the signal! And we all know that "pure is better" so wireless has to be the best speaker hook-up in existence. I'm not surprised that our resident tech expert joshd is going this route...

Haha... you're about as funny as CarrotTop. I was just wanted to see if this was an option, but after speaking with a few people who have tried this, I found out it is best to just hide the wires.
