line doublers: only in HDTV's?
I'm interested in learning more about line doublers and thier use.
Am i correct in assuming that line doublers are only present in HD ready tv's (both 16:9 and 4:3)? If you have a progressive scan DVD player, and you wanted to utilize it's progressive scan feature on your TV, then your TV would obviously have to be HD ready, and have a line doubler right?
Oh god i hope i made sense

If you have a progressive DVD player you would bypass the HDTV's line doubler. The set does that automatically since the progressive circuitry in the player already took care of what the TV's line doubler would do.
External line doublers (or even quadruplers) are available too. HDTV's tend to have line doublers, but older, non-HD-capable TVs did too.
