DVD changer
I currently have a late model 2 Disc Toshiba DVD player. I want to replace it with a DVD changer with 100+ capacity. I am not concerned with it being the "best" or being a progessive scan player - realiabity is a concern though. I just want to my DVD's in it and never touch them again!
Any recommendations, any brands to stay away from?
IS there any risk, or problems with stroring DVD's for a long time in the DVD player?
Thank you, and have a happy new year!

I got the 403 disc, Kenwood DVD-Audio player (Sovereign 5900M) about a month ago & love it. It took a few hours to load it up (I have over 900 dvds now so it wasn't hard), and program it (comes w/ keyboard to enter info). But now when someone comes over, I can show off just about any awesome HT scene without getting up. Plus the library system allows you to look up movies alphabetically or by categories that you assign (comedy, music, drama, etc.). I left open spaces of about 8 discs here & there so I could add new releases for a while without taking others out. It has 400 in the library, plus a 3-disc "rental zone" for movies you rent/ don't want to add to library that has the 3 discs spaced out so their easier to switch. Plus the player itself is very nice- progressive scan (w/ extra video enhancement) and plays dvd-audio.

"I am thinking about selling my Pioneer 301 player and buying this Kenwood. Does is automatically pickup DVD's that include the TEXT header info on the disk? My Pioneer did this for some more recent titles. "
Yes, it has an "all data read" mode that will go through all the discs and read them, storing any cds or dvds that have text (titles). After that, I used the keyboard to type in the rest. Then I categorized them. I left 380-400 open to put new ones in, to watch once before deciding whether to add them to the library. Even for the ones I manually title, if I move it to another slot when the player reads it, it knows the title (must memorize length, tracks, etc. and put to that title). My wife just used it for the first time by herself this morning to watch Blow, and said how easy it was. She didn't lnow what category I had it in (drama), but she looked it up alphabetically. Now no one has to touch my dvds or player at all, but can still find at least 50 movies they'd probably like to see without moving. Oh yeah, it also flips the disc to play both sides! This looks like it could come in handy- I saw Mad Max & What's The Worst That Could Happen both have WS & PS on one side & extras on the other. So I don't have to get up to flip them anymore either.
