DVD player with 2 decoders?

I want to buy a DVD player. I am having a very hard time sorting through all of the formats, processors, decoders, etc. Can someone make a recommendation based on the following situation?

I have an HK AVR80 with 6-channel direct inputs. I want to be able to watch as many formats in 5.1 surround as possible. I will also be making DVDs from a mini-DV camcorder with my PC.

I think I want a DVD player with both a Dolby Digital, and a DTS decoder. They seem to be few and far between.

Thanks in advance...

So are you looking for a DVD player or a DVD recorder?

You are correct. You want a DVD player with "Built-in DD and DTS decoding", and they are relatively scarce. Sony makes at least one model.

The other route you could go is to buy any DVD player and buy a separate decoder. Various companies have made some, but I don't know about current availability. Technics made a very affordable and popular model, AC500D I think. I don't know what's currently on the market.

Are you sure you need a DVD Player that decodes? If you have a receiver that does DD and DTS, then you don't need a DVD Player that does. (You'd hook your speakers up to the receiver and not the DVD player)

I'm not sure if the 360 for sony does DD or DTS decodind. Check out Toshibas, they have a few models that has build in decoders.

Yes. The HK AVR80 doesn't decode DD or DTS. But it does have analog 5.1 inputs.
