subwoofer
Hello-
We just bought a subwoofer to add to our system. We had borrowed our son's Polk 250 (8") and liked the extra bass in a few movies we watched.
So we bought an AR S112PS, and we think it sounds pretty good, but I'm wondering if we should have considered anything else. Side-by-side comparisons would have been good, but I'm not sure how much good they could have done us without doing them at home.
I've heard good things about the Sony SAWM40; does anyone think that might be a significantly better choice? We paid $148 for the AR at 6th Avenue Electronics; they didn't have the Sony, but I think it's only a little more $$ when I've seen it advertised elsewhere.
Just wondering if we screwed up.....
Thanks,
Steve.

A truly great subwoofer will run $500 or more retail. It sounds like you like the sub and got a good deal on it. You could always purchase the Sony WA-40 and return the sub you like the least. My guess is that both subs will sound different but neither will be a lot better.
