Where can I get CHEAP component video cables?
I'm looking for just about the cheapest component video cables for a DVD player that I can find. My replaytv is hooked up to the s-video input on the TV, so I am wanting to hook up the DVD player using component because of necessity and not for need/want of better quality. I figure that poor component cables are going to be a better option than connecting the DVD player with s-video and bumping the replaytv down to composite.
I would have sworn i saw really cheap (~$10 shipped!!) NXG brand component cables at buy.com a few weeks ago, but now they are gone. Nothing but high-priced Monster Cables now. If anyone knows a place to get cheap component cables, I'd love to know where.

You can get the AR Pro Series cables from www.avconnect.com for a decent price. They are easily as good as the Monster cables, but not so overpriced.

Component cables are nothing more than regular 75ohm video cables all bundled together. So if you can find cheap, good quality video cables, just buy 3 of them, although the component 'bundling' and color-coding is definitely a much nicer convenience.

i got some rca-brand AV cables at target that were gold tip and all for $18. It came with 3 seperate 6 foot cables and they all worked as spdif so i would assume they are 75ohm.

Maybe you should re-phrase the subject to, Where can I find Component Video Cables at a ChEAP Price?
Otherwise, I am think that you are looking for some cat chewed on video cables.

Thanks for the suggestions. When i said "cheap" I was really referring to quality AND price. I'm not really looking to find a hot deal on good component cables. Price is more important than quality for now. Nothing chewed by your cat though
.
I might try the self bundling of cables idea.

If you change your mind about getting cables that have been chewed on by a cat, let me know. I have 2 cats that just love to chew on my cables and speaker wire.

If you buy three individual cables, you need to make sure they introduce the same signal delay in each of the three paths. The signal delay is a function of the physical length, and a characteristic of the cable called dielectric constant. You can't really measure the latter easily without a lab. All three cables should at least be same brand, part number, and appear to be made from same style of coax, as well as being being the same length.
Provide you do that, the three individual cheap cables should be OK. However, the advantage of bundled component cables is that the manufacturer should have done this. I would check Radio Shack, Best Buy, places like that for generic brands.

only have TVs, Stereos, some appliances and speakers.
They have a decent selection of wires and cables usually.
www.rexstores.com is the website, not sure if they have
the cables on there or not.

the CHEAPEST way!
since you don't care about quality, why don't you try any cheapo 3-RCA cable connection (the familiar red/white/yellow cables - used for Left audio, Right audio, Video).
the audio cables (red & white connectors) are not 75 ohm, but won't hurt anything, and you may not even be able to tell the differences if you are not a critical viewer.
everyone have a few of these lying around, so cost = $0. (or buy for a few dolloars at most)
anyway - try it. if it looks ok to you, you're all set.
