I tried playing a dvd-audio on a toshiba 2109 and 3109 that I have and it just kept saying loading, nothing happened. I then tried it on my neighbors old sony and it worked perfect. It also worked on my desktop. Dvd-A's are supposed to play in DD 5.1 on all players. Has anyone else had it not work on a toshiba or other player? I had amazon send out a new copy hoping that it was just a bad copy, but I doubt it.
Thanks

What was the DVD-A? I have the progressive SD-5109 & it keeps saying loading for Rumours (Fleetwood Mac). I posted another thread on this & many people with Toshibas couldn't play this specific one. I have quite a few others that play just fine on that player, but not Rumours.

the one that wouldn't work was rumors. I have not tried any others. Not sure if I want to spend the money on another and it not work.

I have Steely Dan-2 Against Nature, Doors-LA Woman, ELP-Brainsalad Surgery, Silverline's Classic Rock compilation, plus about 5 DTS cds (I think I'm missing another DVD-A also). All of them play great on my Toshiba. Rumours is the only one that won't play, so I wouldn't worry about getting another one. If you have a PS2, it'll play on that. I have the monster fiberoptic cable for the PS2 so it sounds just fine. I wonder if there's any chance that Warner (I think it's them) will fix the compatability problem since it does say it will play on any player with a dvd logo?
